Our client is a gaming company specializing in the publishing of video games, focusing on creating innovative and engaging gaming projects across various genres and platforms.
Task

The company sought a specialist to help develop a marketing strategy and lay the foundation for a startup publisher. The ideal candidate needed to be an expert in game development with a proven track record of launching successful PC projects globally.
Process and Challenges

  • Market Specificity: The market for PC and console game development is underdeveloped in the CIS, leading to a narrow talent pool. We identified potential donor companies within a week.
  • Candidate Motivation: Many experienced specialists were reluctant to consider small startups that had not yet launched products, complicating recruitment.
Search Process

We targeted developers and publishers with PC and console experience, actively reaching out to them. Concurrently, we leveraged our network of Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) and industry contacts to gather recommendations.
Result

We successfully found an experienced specialist, quickly gathered market recommendations, and motivated him to transition to the new company. Given that the candidate possessed broader experience than initially anticipated, the team offered him the position of Head of Publishing instead of CMO.
