CTO (e-commerce)

Client Description

A large Russian company engaged in the production and retail of clothing, footwear, and accessories, as well as owning an online store.
Task

The company needed a leader to manage their rapidly growing team of developers, propose new architectural solutions, and establish a transparent KPI system for the team. They approached us because their internal recruitment team lacked experience in sourcing specialists of this level, while we have access to a steady “warm” market of candidates.
Key requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in CTO roles.
  • Deep understanding and experience in creating and optimizing software development processes using Agile methodologies.
  • Proven leadership and motivation skills for teams, team leads, and functional managers.
  • Ability to assess development efficiency and eliminate bottlenecks.
Process

Our team conducted a preliminary study of the position and selected 5 candidates of potential interest to the company. After a briefing with the responsible specialist, we developed an effective candidate search strategy. We started by reviewing our internal candidate database and requested recommendations from our network. Then, we covered well-known sourcing platforms (LinkedIn, Habr, relevant Telegram channels, etc.). We provided the client with weekly reports on the search progress, allowing for timely adjustments to the strategy.
Result

As a result, we found a suitable candidate from a product company who wasn’t actively job hunting. After successful negotiations and preparation of tailored terms, the candidate accepted the offer, despite a counteroffer from his current employer.
